The innovation in rural supply chsin were:
1. HPCL Rasoi ghar: it is a community kitchen shared by many households in one village. Each rasoi ghar is equipped with adequate water supply. Gas etc.

2.ICRISAT Green PHABLET: this will help farmers to purchase at lower price get a better price for their product and market their products.

3. Flipkart "Karigar or dwara" : this provides a rural artisan and MSME community the support needed to market their products across the country.

rural supply chain is seggregated into several divisions for Innovations:

1. Partnering model:
The two companies or industries come up with each other and work for benefit of rural people.
Ex: SBI BANK & AIRTEL has joined hands for opening up of SB A/c's.

2. ITC (e-choupal : helping farmers regarding weather prediction, collection of produced goods transit to ITC Warehouses)

3. Collaboration:
(Example)

Cherie Blair Foundation for Women has worked in partnership with India’s Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and Vodafone Foundation in India and developed a mobile-based Management Information Systems. SEWA’s Rural Distribution Network operates mainly in Gujarat and its business model revolves around buying farm produces from farmers at market prices, processing & packaging before finally selling it off to a bunch of saleswomen known as “Rudibens” at affordable prices. They are using a simple user friendly App and this has reported significant positive growths.

4. Hybrid or omnichannel:
Omnichannel supply chains. are like multichannel supply chains in respect to serving consumers across different channels. However, omnichannel solutions provide one-touch integration across all channels to provide a superior customer service.
Ex: Flipkart using post medium which is strategic move; to make available of all goods & service in all remote areas.

5. Govt supply chain:
Atlas cycle were purchased from Manufacturers by Govt of Karnataka for disturbuting to students in rural area.

6. PPP model:
Public-private partnership (PPP) is a funding model for a public infrastructure project such as a new telecommunications system, airport or power plant & development activities.

PPP MODEL (EXAMPLE)-
Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the Indian Railways would set up a 'Kisan Rail' through PPPs, to provide a smooth supply chain for perishable food items such as milk, meat and fish. For this, express and freight trains shall have refrigerated coaches, during Budget planning.

Some of the models which have been effective in rural development are:

1) ITC e‐ Choupal
Through e Choupal, farmers who are living in the remote area of the country and cannot manage to have direct contact with the consumer can come forward to have a direct contact. It provides e procurement system through which the farmer can access the latest and updated information (Local, national and International) related to different farming practices.

2) HUL Shakti programe
Here the village women are hired to promote company’s product in the village and they are trained and skilled. It seeks to empower underprivileged rural women by providing income generating opportunities through ishakti community portal.

3) HDFC bank has a tie up with Indian Oil Companies Ltd. Where rural petrol Pump outlet Kisan Kendra will acts as a Bank Business Correspondent (BC.s).

4) Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar
Farmers historically has limited access to quality input items for both their fields and homes. Indian conglomerate DSCL has undertaken a unique Rural Business Initiative to address this issue, establishing a chain of retail outlets throughout rural India geared toward farmers and their families. Through its growing network of stores, DSCL is able to establish relationships with farmers and provide them with a host of agricultural services, including improved crop inputs, agronomic support, fuel, banking, and consumer goods.

The system that is increasingly in vogue involves a tie-up of a marketing company with an input producer (such as Rallis India, for example) with a bank (ICICI Bank or SBI, both of which have entered into such arrangements) which agrees to provide credit.
the recent corporate interest in Punjab agriculture has been in basmati farming, which is one of the great water-guzzlers.
PepsiCo and other companies have used similar methods for the cultivation of foodgrains
Pepsi Foods Ltd (hereafter PepsiCo), which entered India in 1989 by installing a tomato processing plant in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab. PepsiCo followed the contract farming method.the cultivator plants the company's crops on his land, and the company provides selected inputs such as seeds/saplings, agricultural practices.

Rural development is the process of improving the quality of life and economic well-being of people living in rural areas, often relatively isolated and sparsely populated areas. Education, entrepreneurship, physical infrastructure, and social infrastructure all play an important role in developing rural regions.

Traditionally, rural economies have been dominated by industries such as farming, forestry, mining and seaside tourism. However, today, even in remote rural areas the largest employment sectors are in: public administration, education and health, distribution, hotels and catering and manufacturing. As a result, rural areas are gradually becoming less distinct from their urban counterparts.

Rural innovations driven by ‘rural demand’:
The most common rural-driven innovations are in traditional rural industries: such as farming through new harvesting machinery or tractors, fishing boats, nets or navigation systems, and mining automation or drilling equipment. Incremental innovations in these industries improve productivity. Indeed even when such innovations are developed outside rural areas, rural businesses still play an important role as ‘users’ in shaping and pushing the development of many such
innovations.

Rural innovations driven by universal basic needs:
Many rural innovations have their origins in basic needs, such as access to critical public services, like education, health and social services , and to a minimum level of commercial services, such as post offices, banks and retail . In this regard, rural areas have benefited from the distance learning over the Internet, the provision of online banking, and e-government services created to
lessen the barriers of distance.
Innovation in response to these needs does not necessarily emerge from rural areas themselves; in fact it mostly comes from outside. However, overcoming the problems posed by ‘sparsity’ and distance may
sometimes lead local businesses and public services delivery organisations to excel in the use of such
innovations.

Rural innovations driven by ‘urban demand’:
Traditional rural industries are becoming increasingly important sources of new innovation. Witness the growing interest in ‘non-food farming’ as a source for new industrial materials, including materials based on fibre crops or, perhaps more importantly, as a source of biofuels to provide new energy. In both instances, new technologies are being applied in traditional rural industries to spin out new
innovations targeting new markets and creating new added value. This ‘diversification’ can take non-
technological routes too. In such
cases, rural innovation activities reflect largely urban demand.

Even in traditional rural industries such as agriculture and food, a growing urban demand for quality food is a major source of innovation. Here we find organic farming, the production of high quality products and regional specialities, on-farm processing and marketing, as well as the creation of new short supply chains, all driving new waves of innovation
