Some of the key consumer behaviour changes, according to a survey by NRF

● 9 in 10 consumers have changed their traditional shopping habits.

● More than 50% of consumers have ordered products online that they would normally purchase at the store

● Nearly 6 in 10 consumers say they are worried about going to the store due to fear of being infected

*While some of these changes are no doubt temporary, others will be permanent. As the community moves beyond the survival mode, the digital-adoption momentum is likely to carry forward and become permanent. This inflection point will be primarily shaped by two major shifts in customer behaviour - the reluctance to mingle in crowded public places and higher propensity for digital adoption.

*With continued uncertainty, I predict that brands that are currently the most receptive and agile in adopting these new norms of customer behaviour will prevail than those who wait it out. So, what can retailers do to cope with these constantly changing buying patterns and quickly cope with the new world order.

* Digitization should become a priority

*Based on data from our clients in China, the Covid-19 crisis has clearly favoured omnichannel retailers when it comes to minimization of the negative impacts. Therefore, offline retailers must approach the lockdown period as an opportunity to build a strong online presence.

During this covid 19 period we are seeing the industries, businesses related to the various industries are hampered in this situation the people are trying to make the business through digital media. They might be using smart-technology advertising, micro-influencer marketing, and video advertising to market their products today. As the lockdown has lead to empty roads, marketing platforms like banners and hoardings are of no use in this situation. Digital platform has become the only way to promote brands and their products.
We can see ads on the Internet via memes and influencer promotions. Some brands are taking part in helping the medical team of the country to maintain their brand image in the eyes of their customers.
Example: Airtel xstream a video streaming platform. It is a destination Indians to observe movies, tv shows & live channels. Because of the on going covid 19 virus, airtel has started a campaign called as getcuriousindia.
Through this campaign instead of using traditional way of advertising like hoarding's and pamphlets they are using push notification and placing in app, airtel xstream helped the Indian viewers get more information about the virus and the way it spread n wat precaution must be taken
The brand also shows live updates and stats to spread awareness about covid-19

How Indian companies are using digital platforms during COVID-19 lockdown to promote their business and products:-

COVID-19 pandemic has brought the worst to mankind but has got the best of the digital platform to utilize to its full extent.

Corona virus has made the traditional stores in India to make sales. People are are struggling to survive . Small retailer helping people to deliver supplies to deliver.

The lockdown currently in place like India means most of the people are not permitted to come out of their homes unless going out for groceries and medicines. It is really huge change that has hit all of us.

Netflix and some other channels are creating awareness regarding disease through videos.

Amazon and flipkart selling necessary products through online and other companies use online advertising penetrating pricing and offers.

Some companies are creating google adds by creating awareness and also put adds on Facebook in form of videos .
In social media like what's app sending forward messages of offers and discounts to reach customers.

Q. How Indian companies are using platform during covid lockdown to promote their business product.?
Ans: The Indian companies are promoting their business by using various sources of digital platform like,

Unilever Company:
During the Covid lockdown the Unilever company has donated free sanitizer, soap and food to the world's neediest. Speed and Agility was two important factor that Rebecca Marmot said. The company noted that untill the vaccine, for Covid-19 soap is the best. The company has also launched some initiatives in team of manufacturing and distributing bars of free soap. Also company has advised to other companies too to look over their employees to maintain social distancing and stay safe.

D'Mart:
D'Mart started delivery during the covid lockdown , a vehicle is sent to the apartment to sell their mechandise. Whereas Flipkart is also providing all grocery item to the doorstep of customers.
We cannot go out of home, so it's time to reconnecting and creating presence in the subconcious minds of prospect. As in the festival time the companies called Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Niyaz etc will send messages like offers on any product or any discounts. But now in covid lockdown also companies are still sending messages they are in connect with people to promote the product to the customer.

Club Factory:
The club factory is using to promote their business product. As an now those orders that are yet to come the club factory has decided that the orders would not be sent to them untill the situation improves. Thus the notification will be sent to the customers before placing the order due to covid 19 impact. And it has told that the customer should not expect the immediate order. If no longer the customer can wait then they can cancel their order and the ordered products are not shown on seller panel.

According to Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade there are some industries of small and medium scale industries should allow to start the minimum manpower in a single shift which includes : All types of food and beverages , Automotive units , Manufacturing the rubber required for healthcare.

As the rubber manufacturing is given more priority because it includes medical items like silicon, pharma stopper, boots, cathetas , anesthesia, bags and dental supplies.
The DPIIT also said to improve doorstep delivery the street vendors like fruit and vegetable seller should be allowed by states and also the service like repairs of refrigerator mobile any electric items so that they will get some cash which helps them.
