I am here in support for "Dress code to be compulsory for college students",
as it brings equality among the students and gives a professional touch to the course.
Team Hawk Eye
I would like to support for the topic as it maitains decency , discipline and uniformity among the students.
Team Ultron.
I am here in support for the topic.
1> Dress code is an essential & integral part of an institution. It provides a distinct Identity to the students.
2> It makes it easier to distinguish & identify the students. It also gives recognition to the students & the institution in cases of high esteem.
3> Dress code instills discipline and a sense of belonging among the students.
Team Ultron.
I am here in support for the topic.
4> Maintaing a particular dress code in an educational institution also cultivates a sense of professionalism among the students which is very much important.
5> The emotional aspects attached with school/college uniform are also important as it brings back nostalgia. It provides a sense of relief & happiness to the alumni.
6> Dress code promotes untiy & seriousness among the students in an institution.
Team Strange
Did someone say dress code for College Students?
Yes! Why not? i strongly support this rule because it brings a sense of uniformity and unity amongst the student union.
Team Iron
I would completely agree that the college students should also have uniform.
1. Firstly it maintains discipline among students which is necessary because self-discipline is the key ingredient for success.
2. It maintains unity amongst the students. College is an environment where students from all backgrounds come together to learn. There are students who will have stronger financial backgrounds as well as students with weaker once. Having uniform gives the students equal status.
3. Uniform identifies the student of being in a particular institution which gives respect to the institution and students as well.
Team vision
Im here in support of "dess code should be made compulsary for college students "bcause compare their dressing style which creats their inferiority complex among students a compulsary dress code will not only create a feeling of equality also make students focus on their studies rather than on their cloths

1. I don't think so that uniform is what actually defines the sense of "discipline" among students.
2. If uniform is what creates sense of equality among students then what about students of IIT and IIM.??
3. If equality and discipline is important then why don't inculcate such manners and morality in students so that they don't judge people on their clothes!!!.
Team Black Panther.
Even IIT & IIM students must be asked to wear uniform because even they are students and are still learning.
Uniform teaches us uniformity and it doesn't create differentiation of any kind .
Team Loki,
My argument is FOR the statement which asks "Should dress code be compulsory to college students?"
I like how everyone spoke of various associations with the uniform but, more than discipline, equality or unity, it creates a sense of belongingness and upholds the values and integrity of the institution and also recognises the student wearing the same, for he/she can wear it with pride.
(TEAM ASGUARDIAN)
On the contrary i would like to put forth my perceptive "against" the topic which is,"If dress codes should be made mandatory to college students". College dress code do not help students in any way at all, They take away students ability to express them selves through their clothes and how do they reduce bulling at all? Also, we are entitled to a free education. Therefore, students should not be required to buy clothes preferred by the college. There have been studies done on if dress code help students academically at all and almost all of them have shown that dress code have absolutely no effect at all on students academic performance. That's way dress code should not be required in colleges.
Team Ultron.
I disagree with your point.
Inculcating manners is also a home effort which is to be undertaken by the parents themselves. With a certain Dress code in the institution the chances of any kind of class differentiation are very minimal.
There is also no financial burden on the parents regarding the changing trends which take place. Youth nowadays, take heed towards the new trends & demand their parents for such goods. This is very much avoided in having a Dress code as there is no comparison or a sense of inferiority among the students.
Team Black Widow
I totally agree with team asguardian .
Uniform for what!?
Many professional institutions have blazer as their uniform which will cost students nearly upto 3000....
Why it is needed!?.
Students who live in hostels and PG...can utilize these 3000 rs for at least 2 months...
Team Ultron.
I disagree with your point.
Bullying is not at all related with having a particular Dress code.
It includes body-shaming, derogatory remarks etc. This is not due to wearing a uniform. On the contrary such incidents also occur due to the cultural difference and the class-differentiation which generally happens on the basis of clothes. Many students cannot afford to be on-par with the changing trends in the modern society. This excludes them and thus we need a Dress code in an educational institution as it does not limit their freedom in anyway, it brings a sense of uniformity & equality among the students.
(TEAM ASGUARDIAN)
My take to the argument would be that, a college instead of having rules about dress code it should ensure more focus on additional courses and other activities that the students can use and then grow to meet the constant, ever changing requirements of the industry.
A uniform dress code creates a stagnant environment but when you let students have the freedom of choosing what they feel comfortable in helps create confidence and motivates them to be different. And this "Difference" will allow them to express themselves to the world.
Team black Panther.
I disagree with u as the main point of the school or college uniform is integrity among students.
In college, students come from various backgrounds. Students from financially weak families cannot afford stylish wear and a good wardrobe as the rich guys and this brings them a feeling of inferiority and thus fora making it fair, uniforms are necessary.
All college students should compulsorily have a dress code
(I am here in support "For" the topic)
1)It helps students to keep focus on their studies as well as create feeling of equality.
2)college students compare their dressing styles which creates an inferiority complex among students.
3)compulsory dress code reflects the discipline and uniformity.
4)It help us to value time for not wasting time every day on deciding what to wear.
Team Groot
What is a uniform? A uniform is something that a people wear to show that they belong to the same group.
What is India? India is one of the most diverse countries in the world, with 1000s of backgrounds millions of people living in the same country. A country with thrives on unity in diversity. And the same is very much for a place like a college where in students come from various backgrounds, from varied upbringings.
A uniform will only force them to hide themselves, to force them to just be a part of the crowd.
Without an uniform, they can be as unique as possible, as different as possible and as individualistic as possible.
For the country will grow only when there are different people living and loving each other without any uniform or dress code, but just as other unique humans.
Team Thanos Titans
Yes dress code must be allowed for college students because When we go to college there is dress code rule that we have to follow.Dress code makes us to realize that we are in a institution. In a institution we can't take study in a casual way whether it is school or colg..Dress code brings decipline and equality between students. It doesn't matter that what we wear.
I believe that, Only uniform can't provide.. Equality among students.
Here,Team- Proxima Midnight
I believe that, Only uniform cant provide equality among students.
Team Ultron.
I disagree with your point.
The topic is 'Should Dress code be made compulsory for college students?'
The focus is not on the different courses that are on offer by an institution, it is about the uniform that the students wear. The students are free to choose whichever field of education they want to enter.
We live in the 21st century where possibilities are limitless, so there is no question about their education.
An educational institution should focus on the Dress code for other aspects rather than uniformity, unity, discipline etc mentioned before.
The other aspects being theft, damage to property, criminal actions etc.
Without a proper Uniform, any intruder can enter the premises & do so whatever he/she wishes.
Which is exactly why a Dress code is very much important for a College/Educational institution.
Any technical problem. Put message to prasadkh90@gmail.com
Here Team - Proxima Midnight
I'am not agree with your statement that... Uniform itself provide code of conduct
Team Thanos Titans..
The other main reason why dress should be allowed in college is
-If there is a dress code in colleges then people can identify the student that which college they are belonging .Having a dress code is very much important for any institution & colleges because it shows there personality, smartness etc.
Team Iron
1. Wearing uniforms does not promote bullying at all. In fact without the uniform the bullying in terms of clothing or body shaming might increase.
2. And one thing I would like to point out is that a student's attire has nothing to do with his/her quality of education. With uniform as well the students will learn effectively. And our today's education system encourages the students to show their creativity which has nothing to do with what they are wearing.
Here Team Proxima Midnight - Its not uniform that creates sense of belongingness..its only Mentality that matters a lot
Team Ultron.
I disagree with your point.
All fingers of your hand are not the same, though they are a part of your hand. Same way a Dress code does not limit the freedom or hamper the uniqueness of an individual. Every individual has a chance to express their creativity and uniqueness. This is not measured on the terms of what clothes they wear. Dress code in an institution is for the benefit of the students themselves. As you said about students coming form various backgrounds, all students cannot afford to be on-par with the latest trends. Even due to cultural backgrounds & class differences there is discrimination.
This will be eliminated if a proper dress code is implemented & followed. So there is no question about the uniqueness or ability of an individual being hampered.
Well, Team Asguardian, an average college going student only spends 62.5 days of one year, in college. He/She express themselves more outside and they are comfortable doing so. The sole argument is about respecting everyone's space. An individual expressing his or her own self shouldn't discomfort anyone around. And also shouldn't create a situation of discomfort to oneself for expressing, like you say "themselves" around wrong people. Have a uniform and eliminate all of these possibilities.
Replying to your comment team Ultron a student is quite matured enough to know what decency of uniformity he/she needs to maintain in college . Well it is important to have right career path set for the students rather than a dress code
And addressing The Proxima and Ultron, the Indian population would any day stand up to sing the national anthem. Irrespective of the "diverse" backgrounds and "mentality". That's integration of values through association. In case of colleges, the integration of college's values in one representable, uniform that is in association with one institution only.
Above arguments by team loki
(TEAM ASGUARDIAN)
Contradicting my worthy opponent "Team Black Panther's" statement who stated, that having a dress code teaches you uniformity and it doesn't create differentiation of any kind, for which i would like to give you an example of a college in Kerala's malappuram district where there was a differentiation between smart and weak students on the basis of dress code after which when the college was questioned on why they implemented a rule this kind the response that was given was completely vague and did not bother about the psychological problems it triggered in the students, which goes without saying that having dress code will create a differentiation between the students.
Team Groot
Every college going student should be rather enforced to attend classes , have disscussions and develop themselves in the field of what they are pursuing .
Team Ultron.
To the argument stated, the type of decency in clothing is well known among the students of an institution but this decency can also be culminated through establishing a particular Dress code.
This instills a sense of pride among the students and brings upon a flow of uniformity.
The career path of an individual is set upon his own wish. There is no relation between the career path of an individual and the dress code in the institution.
Replying to team Asgardians
We are taking about having the same uniform for the entire institution. There should be no discrimination in the uniform as it will contradict the whole purpose of it.
Team Ultron.
I am for the topic not against the topic. Kindly clear all misconceptions as per your knowledge.
Team GROOT
NO, it serves no purpose. It makes sense to talk about wearing uniforms in K-12 schools because it has been shown to increase behavior and performance among students. But, at the college level it is all adults attending the school and they should be mature enough to not need uniforms. If they are not mature enough, they will probably not make it through college anyways.
Team GROOT replying to the above comment
The particular Institutions have a set of rules and regulations to be adhered .
When the institution focuses on rather embibing what the student to inculcate that is when the institution will get better Accredition
Team Pury
I strongly disagree
The college dress code does not support all seasons or climates
Now days the college uniforms are not comfortable for traditional girls or boys the color of uniform the size of uniform etc.
College uniforms prevent the students dressing sense or still improvement directly and indirectly college dress code stop the student thinking ability about the dress.
We have to consider it seriously about the point, the students may have to think what is doing but uniform doesn't allowed to think any student about their dress sense choosing of the dress loading the purchasing skill according to their wish.
Anything we are implementing in education system that solid super student growth in various sector or various dimension but college dress code are only during in one dimension of thinking that is uniformity that is wrong so that's why I strongly disagree with college dress code

Such type of procedures are not at all practiced in other educational institutions.
It is completely baseless & illogical to measure the intelligence of an individual based on the dress code.
Though as stated by you that this was practiced by a college in kerala, it is highly unlikely such illogical procedures will be carried out in other institutions. As you have stated that the reason was completely vague there is no beneficial aspect to follow & conduct such procedures in other institutions.
Therefore establishing a Dress code does not interfere with the intelligence level or hamper the progress of an individual.
Team Black Panther.
We all know that after a point of time i.e, after our studies we all have to work and we all know that there is particular dress code followed by Offices, companies and other work places.. Y?!
Because it shows discipline,it shows the work culture and gives confidence to an individual.
Following Uniform in college life helps us in every aspect of life .
Team stark
I am here to support the topic. Compulsion of uniform for college students helps students for not worrying about their looks! It represents a pride, decency and discipline. It defines their identity.
TEAM MARVEL
Against the motion of the statement.
The virtue of educational institution is to impart knowledge and not consider aspects such as dress code . Factors like dress code should not matter . The vision has to be individual growth . There are various other reasons why not keeping dress code compulsory like :
1) Comfort
2) Reduces unnecessary investment on things like uniform or any kind of clothes mentioned according to the dress code .
3) Focus on more important concerns like academics, skill development etc.
Team Loki
Contradicting to my worthy opponent team pury, school uniforms are designed according to the climatical condition of the region state or country and also the size can be altered further. So your argument is vague and also students have subjects like economics and business to help them with their "purchasing skills" and by implementing dress codes which include blazers and formals which can also prepare individuals for the corporate life which is important for today's business world
Team Fury
Team Ultron.
In response to the argument stated, the color of the uniform does not interfere or provide any discomfort to the students.
The size of the uniform in any case is made as per the measurement of the individual. There is no point in the size of the uniform providing any kind of discomfort to the students.
Following a particular dress code does not interfere or degrade the thinking of an individual. It is an inner aspect of a person.
Dress code is very much important for eliminating any discrimination among students.
It is not subjected to any season or climate. In any season or climate the dress code remains same with varying changes which are permitted by the institution. Such as raincoats, sweaters, etc. During specific events allowance is also given for changing dress code. Such as Sports, cultural events etc.
Therefore dress code cannot be linked with any sort of discomfort.
Team GROOT contradicting my worthy opponent

College should not have uniforms. College students are adults and should have freedom of expression, as should all students. The entire point of college is to learn and grow. Part of learning and growing is self expression. Furthermore, students pay to attend college, unlike at jobs where you get paid. You shouldn't have to pay to have someone tell you what to wear.
Team sider verse
I m going speek for the college uniform...
There should be compulsion for uniform bcz it's shows this neatness of the college students r going to follow the discipline n there will be an unity in students ... So some time some poor people contact aford the dresses so if there is an uniform they feel comfortable to come college
Bro if there is uniform the raging cases will be less so it's helpful to equality
Team Black Panther.
Ok Let's be very practical,
When we join a college where is no dress code and we can wear anything of our choice we tend to feel inferior as to what to wear and there are also some students who force their parents for buying them new clothes for college because there is feeling of comparison , comparing oneself to another and students tend to see others, copy them and buy new stuff .
Instead of all this if a college has its own dress code then it would be much much simpler in the above mentioned situation. In this casec all we will have to do is get up and not think much about what to wear and simply wear the uniform and attend the college and this will also help in focussing on the topic that is thought rather than comparing each other's wardrobe essentials.
Team GROOT contradicting my worthy opponent Team sider verse
It is not cost effective. The cost of attending college is already high enough without adding school uniforms to the list. Also, by the time people go to college, they should have a sense of what is appropriate attire and what is not. It is a part of growing up and being responsible. Students should not have to be told what is or is not acceptable.
College students compare their dressing style which creates an inferiority complex among students. A compulsory dress code will not only create a feeling of equality but also make students focus on their studies rather than on their clothes.
Team Loki
To my worthy opponent team Groot, only emphasizing on the fact that students will be give the freedom of choice is not going to change the fact that uniformity helps students through various aspects, also stating a case registered in US where a student was attending college wearing a t-shirt that says "antigay club" so now when all the arguments above have been about expressing the freedom of choice, is this is how a teenager express his freedom by undermining another individuals sexual preference over his own
Team Ultron.
As you have stated in your above comment that an institution has a set of rules and regulations to be adhered it is also mandatory for the students to show decency by sensibly dressing as per the requirement.
Many cases have been taken into consideration wherein students have appeared to college in a very derogatory & disapproving fashion which does not suit an individual of any Educational institution.
Therefore a particular Dress code is very much essential for any College/Educational institution.
Team name :supergiant
Against.. India is a secular country and every individual has right to wear what they want,by uniform system
1.they take individuality and freedom of expression...
2.they taken additional cost...
3.they can case additional stress to students and parents
4.they can cause discomfort..
5.they can promote an intolerance of cultures..
6.they cause resentment among students..
Team sider verse it's not only the matter of comfort it's a matter of equality n decipline
Team Strange
Contradicting my worthy opponents who are against this, i would like to say that
Compulsory dress code reflects the discipline and uniformity. It is also helpful because after getting a degree, if we go to work for a good company, there too we will have to follow a dress code. Also, if there is a dress code, we do not have to waste time every day on deciding what to wear.Just like one cannot wear everyday wear or casual dress to parties, similarly it is unethical to attend college in party wear. A strict dress code for all colleges would therefore serve the purpose.
Well the debate is about making DRESS CODE compulsory or not . It is not about uniforms . Contradicting team HYDRA : Discipline or focus doesn't come from dress code ,it is upto the individual. The amount of determination and conviction one has towards his/her ambitions .
Contradicting team LOKI
Pride and integrity doesn't come with dress code or uniform it is something that the institution imbibes .
(TEAM ASGUARDIANS)
Contradicting my worthy opponent "Team loki's" statement when you mention that the sole argument is about respecting everyone's space, don't you think having a particular dress code is invading the space and choice of one? Also when you talk about the behavior of one, discomforting the other and expecting an elimination of these possibilities of discomfort by implementing a dress code makes no difference to the way an individual behaves, When he/she is in a uniform, Uniform does not define on how a particular individual behaves, but "choice" surely does, which is why the students should be given the "SPACE" that you call it to make their own choices on what clothing defines their personality the best.
As I disagree with your points,
Perhaps most importantly, a uniform means students don't have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their clothes. When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn't so important. There is no competition about being dressed in the latest trends, which would put a great deal of financial pressure on students and parents. Potential bullies have one less target for their insults,it's hard to make fun of what someone is wearing when you're dressed exactly the same.
Team sider verse
As told by supergiant India is secula country but you should know india India is also known for its tradition so the by uniform we can follow our tradition
Team Black Panther.
Contradicting team hydra,
Here "dress code" refers to our very own "Uniforms".
And i understand that being disciplined and having focus depends on an individual but here I'm saying that uniforms/dress code tends to bring a sense of discipline and mannerism into oneself.
Team Fury
The uniforms take the freedoms of the students and it's take the lack of interest on the dressings sense
And uniforms are likely too much cost
Team GROOT Contradicting team black panther
Uniforms are similar to a punishment given to a whole group of people. There are bunch of these so called 'aware' people who think that school uniforms are good it has so many benefits and all. OK i know what are you doing let me give it to you straight with an example, Lets say there was a town called college where the individuals were learning to express themselves but one day some 'AWARE' people went to king principal and told him to make uniforms mandatory all were punished to wear uniforms because of the 'AWARE' people and innocent faced the music.
Moral of the story don't be a jerk. . . Oh sorry 'aware' mind like in the story, Just try to understand how much money and ideas you are wasting for a uniform.
The team fury
Against
The uniforms we have to wash agin and agin in one week and if any bad climates if uniforms are not Wash the become so dirty and they show the un cleanness and this comfortable for the students
Team Loki
Contradicting to team Asguardians, when the whole discussion was based on individual choices then why is individual behavior not taken into consideration, and as I mentioned in my previous arguments students get alot of time outside the college to explore their choices in places where they socialize with people and not at the place where they are enrolled to shape their future
Team sider verse I agree to team fury it's costly but u can wear it for 3 years not for 2 days by compar to other expenses it's better na..
Team Asguardian.
My respected opponent, Team Ultron, no where have I mentioned that the topic is anything other than already specified. The courses offered is just an example of where the institution should have been focusing.
You say that we in the 21st century are free to choose which ever field of education we take up but please te how many can actually affor to do it? How many college going students who probably stay away from their homes and families can afford to pay upwards of Rs.2000 at least for a set of uniform?
Dress code isn't at all necessary for identification or security, that's what college IDs are for.
Uniforms are just about show of shallow pride of an institution which is completely unnecessary and unwanted.
Team - winter soldier
Uniforms for college students should not be made compulsory beacuse it prevents the expression of students ways. students should be given the right to choose what they want to wear. It will also cut costs of buying material and stitching uniforms. There are also tendencies of students wearing uniforms being ragged by seniors or other older students.
Team Marvel
Contradicting team STRANGE
It consumes more time comparitively to choose and stick to the boundaries of dress code . If one could just wear anything he wishes it would be considerably easy .
Team spider verse
(Team fury) then you have lots of money to get daily New dresses or u don't want to wash ur dress
Team Ultron.
I am here in support for the topic.
7> With relation to the recent mishap that occurred in our country. The Jamia incident which took place was a heinous crime on part of the perpetrators.
The police have identified the criminals who had infiltrated Jamia and hid in the library. These were the same criminals who had thrown stones & injured the police personnel. Some of the innocent students of the Jamia institute were also injured in response to the retaliation by the police department.
The infiltrators easily entered the premises and hid in the library. Due to which the police had to enter the premises themselves.
This infiltration could have been avoided.
And this is an indication to why a particular dress code is required in an educational institution.
Also having a dress code ensures that there are minimal chances of theft, damage to property, etc by outsiders/infiltrators.
Team Fury we are wearing uniforms from the Ist standard to 12th standard and it is boring to wear uniform in college. In campus we need some freedom in choosing the dress. When we come into profoessional life we does not need uniform but we can have a color code which will give good to work in company or campus.
Students need to relax in college days because they are having very stress period and it is very difficult to study in the stress periods and everyone need a change from this atomosphere.
Team Marvel
As I stated before one has to feel comfortable in order to do or learn anything and not every individual is comfortable in one kind of clothing hence , it would add on in order to reach the potential.
Team spider verse
As told by fury it's not matter of how much year your wearing it's the matter of decipline
Team Iron
Why are we considering uniforms as a type of restriction. We had uniforms in our schools and as much as I remember schools were fun and a child's mind according to me is far more creative than how we think. So uniform does not restrict ones freedom of thought or expression. And secondly considering the issue of cost of uniform, we need to buy just 2 set of uniforms which can be used for the entire week for at least a year or two. So what do you think will cost more, 2 set of uniform or wearing different clothes each day for every week to college.
Team Black Panther.
My point is when u can adjust to so many things that a college has then why not a Uniform?
Infact it makes the process way more simpler .
Team sider verse
Y team marvel u were not comfortable in school days
Uniforms identify.
Police officers wear uniforms as a statement of authority and responsibility. And because if they didn't, then the complaint that you can never find a cop when u need one would really be true.
Armed services wear uniforms for these reasons.
Almost everyone wears a uniform of some sort. while the uniform of a bus driver, or a policeman, or a sergeant of marines might be obvious then why not dress code for college students .
When you walk down the street, are you able to guess things about the lives of the people you see? That guy in a suit and tie might be lawyer or a stock broker or a college student.
And when you see these people, you will have an idea abt what questions you can ask them, what services you can expect from them you just know what they do.
And determining what someone does is the main significance of a uniform.
Hence there is no school you have or anyone has studied in where there is no uniform. Therefore why not uniform be made compulsory for college students then. While we were thought of discipline and equality at school on one of most important basis of "uniform".Hence I will support for compulsory dress code for college students as there is no harm could be found for both students and institution.
You were not comfortable in your school days ,is dat what you want to speak about?
Team Asguardian
My worthy opponent, Team Ultron, I request you to please go and and understand the difference between an University and a college. Both have very different and varied functions.
The Jamia incident which you just shed light upon, happen on campus but in the evening. Unless you want to say that uniforms should be worn for complete day and night I think, it completely invalidates your argument.
And you yourself mentioned, that there were miscreants who entered the campus, do you think if they'd have worn a uniform then they would've been easier to identify or to stop from entering?
Team Fury I
I strongly disagree
The students who stay in paid accommodation
Or hostel have a habit of just waking to the class right out of the bed.and honestly, this does seem a very comfortable opinion when people start getting the hang of college uniforms would literally make every morning will pian for them
I don't think that students do need a dress code in colleges. In school obviously it is compulsory; because it is age where you don't know about many thing; so to safeguard you it is necessary for the school to recognize you.
But in college level I think students are quite mature enough to know what is good for them and what is not. And also we do have id cards for the recognizing the students. Now it is upto the students how they use it or mis use the non- dress code in college.
But I truly believe that we don't need dress-code in college at least.
(TEAM ASGUARDIAN)
Adding more to the argument college students are paying for their education which means they should be getting what they want or pay for. Nobody in college is looking to wear a specific outfit everyday to look like everyone else. All of these questions add up to an unstable idea that would fall apart and fail.
Will having a dress code really help students learn better? I personally do not believe that it will. Students are going to be as engaged in college as they want to be no matter what they are wearing on their body. People propose the argument that dress code's are made so everyone is equal. Hate to break it to you but everyone is unique and special. The clothes that you wear express a lot about yourself and allow you to be YOU. They say that uniforms are going to reduce bullying, but if someone really is a bully clothes are not going to stop them. Students shouldn’t need to wear a uniform everyday, because it is their freedom to be who they want to be and express themselves however they deem fitting.
Team Marvel
Well I think it is explanatory TEAM SIDER VERSE. I was comfortable doesn't mean every student was and vice versa. It is very important that every individual is comfortable.
Team sider verse
If college people can't think only for hostel students they have to think for local students also
Talking abt your boredom its vague ,talking about your freedom then there is life outside campus too and you are allowed any dress you are comfortable with, and talking abt professionalism then uniform is of great significance. And uniforms are not designed in such a way that can make students uncomfortable. So uniforms are comfortable attire that signifies equality, discipline and boost confidence.

Against..
Some educational institutions are adopted foreign customs in uniforms, like shirt, pant skirt,t shirts,etc..it effect the Indian tradition, and many people feel uncomfortable for what they are wearing.
Team Stanley,
The thing is uniform represents one ideology, the ideology of equality. It takes people from different walks of life and turns them into one single thing. This is the reason why armies have uniforms, police officers have uniforms, schools have a uniform. But do you really think that uniform brings equality in our education system? In the Indian education system, equality is not the matter of concern
Team sider verse
When everyone is dressed the same and feels proud to be a part of their college, it boosts morale. The student body has a greater sense of togetherness and pride, boosting college spirit.
Team Black Panther.
Contradicting team Asguardian..
Uniform doesn't help you learn better but it gives u a feeling of belonging to a particular group of people.
Dress code in college allows us to be confident. If you are a management student you are supposed to wear a blazer with formals because that is the need of the hour .. if u are a medical student you should wear a coat and like wise... &
If given freedom of choosing what you want to wear.. there may be students who will wear some torn jeans or 3/4th pants also which gives a very bad impression to outside world when you say u belong go so n so clg !
Team Groot replying to team Ultron
Could you please elaborate on how or what your standards are for a particular student to wear to college and also please tell me how did you come to the conclusion that one particular dress is derogatory or disapproving.
This has been said in many arguments made here tonight on this blog, clothes that an individual wears, is his/her show of imagination, creativity and sensibility.
If you keep looking at people in only 1 way, where you keep judging them for every single thing that they do it will only put yourself and the students too in misery.

My argument is FOR the statement which is asked "Should dress code be made compulsory for college students"
A dress code is a set of rules, often written, with regards to clothing. Dress codes are created out of social perceptions and norms, and vary based on purpose, circumstances and occasions. Dress codes are symbolic indications of different social ideas, including social class, cultural identity, attitude towards comfort, tradition and political or religious affiliations.
1.Dress code shows an equality among all.
2.Dress code helps in personality development / building up.
3.Dress code do not discriminate the working (rich or poor).
4.Dress code reflects the discipline and uniformity.
5.Dress code helps in not wasting the time to decide what to wear.
6.Decently dressed and definition of decency is embedded within us from a tender age.
7.Dress code don’t have comfort so they think through technical mind.
8.Extortion can be made without knowing the actual person/capacity.

In response to the argument stated,
Dress code and uniform are not entirely related. When you speak about students not able to afford the"uniform" what about the fee structure of the institution?
There is no compulsion to wear the uniform in certain institutions, but the dress code is very much important. Dress code serves as a perceived identity of an individual. Even IDs can be fabricated. In the general sense, Dress code ensures that there is no chance of vulgarity or defamation by any person on part of the institution.
"What you wear is an image of what you
are."
In the corporate world following Dress code is very essential & mandatory.
Even in colleges it instills discipline among the students and prepares them for the life ahead.

It can be costly to buy school uniforms. Some schools specify a certain manufacturer or store to ensure uniformity, making it harder to find competitive pricing. So unlike in a school where uniforms are not required, parents have little control over how much they must spend on their children's clothing. Other schools may require a variety of uniforms, some for daily wear, more formal uniforms for special occasions, and yet another outfit for gym class.
Team sider verse
It's not only the matter of equality ... There are some people who can't buy new - new dresses daily for them it's good to there should be an uniform
In an era where diversity is on the rise and colleges and society are attempting to teach tolerance and positive awareness of differences, requiring college children to wear uniforms emphasizes sameness and conformity. It encourages tribalism and the idea that having independent thought is not a good thing. It sends the message that being the same is positive and something to be striven for, the right way for the world to be, rather than a message that differences and independent thought and action should be valued.

I agree you but u r not buying thus uniforms daily it's for once a year or 2 to 3 years
As you have very well said that college students know what is good and what is not ,then how come there's no basic structure of discipline in one's life that intends to get up directly from the bed and run to classroom. This is what students have misconception of they having maturity level. Maturity level doesn't speak the exact borders for u to prove how mature a student is after college or before college. Students have become so lethargic that they don't want certain principles and discipline in their life only because they are bored.

What this means is if you are not required to wear a uniform, you are free to choose clothing styles that are more flattering to your particular body type and coloring, which allows you to look your best. And straight-up comparisons are not as obvious as they are when everyone has on exactly the same clothing.

As mentioned to introduce color code ,it is a sense of bringing in uniformity and introduction of uniform in the campus.
By introducing uniform one doesn't feel more stressed that's totally wrong , rather feel comfortable as to no need to think to ware a new dress daily.
Team Black Panther.
Contradicting team stanley,
Yes this happens quite often in schools but here we are speaking about the dress code for *college* students.
In schools we can understand because there are P.E class and others but in college we don't have anything like that.. all that college people want us to do is get the uniform stitched in a manner which can b worn for 3 or 4 years according to the course.
Team Groot contradicting Team Ultron
I request Team Ultrol to not foray into a very controversial and disturbing event that happen, mostly because we do not have complete facts of the event you specified.
I agree to Team Asguardian's point where in he/she mentioned about the uniforms which would completely be useless in this kind of situation. Do you expect that the students would not get beaten if they'd be wearing the uniform?

Our Indian mind is conditioned to differentiate every human being on the basis of caste, colour, origin …etc. And same uniform, the symbol of equality doesn’t help in changing this backward mindset
Team sider verse
Usually, college uniforms can be worn for a whole year or two. This means there isn’t a need to spend for new clothes every semester and parents don’t have to deal with picky children who demand expensive brands or a certain style of clothing. So uniform is good

In private colleges, a uniform is a major source of business where they earn commission on every sale. And the student has to buy the low-quality and costly uniform from the prescribed seller because it is compulsory. In India, the student doesn’t have a choice, even in uniform!!

Coming back to college, when a student enters college, he/she does so to make his/ her own identity by holding different views, having different problem-solving skills and striving to do something different with the same degree which every other student posse. So, rather than selling uniform in college, college management should focus more on quality education and less on sales figures. And college is a place where we open our eyes to new things in this world. And the last thing one wants to see the same colour and same style on every person. Can compulsory college uniform can bring equality to your mindset? Ask yourself.
Team Ultron.
We all very well know the difference between a University and a college but as mentioned by earlier opponents that students studying in IITs & IIMs should also follow a particular dress code, I have mentioned this incident.
As you said the incident took place in the 'evening' , and you understand it to being me quote that 'uniforms should be worn for complete day and night', your conception about time zones is wrong. Please kindly acquire the necessary knowledge.
And i have not said that the implementation of a dress code will have stopped the miscreants from entering the premises but it would have definitely served as a barrier.
Following a particular dress code, considering in this case 'Formal wear' is entirely different from casuals.
The infiltrators have been seen to appear in Less than formal clothes in the video footage.
This itself is enough indication for the purpose of a dress code.
Rather than beating around the bush about providing educational opportunities, freedom, uniqueness, intelligence etc. Kindly drop down to the gist of the situation.
The benefits of a dress code are much different and simpler to understand.
Dress code provides a distinct Identity to the individual and also instills a sense of belogingness among the students.

The students getting harassed and injured is entirely on the retaliation by the police force in response to the havoc caused by the miscreants.
The purpose of a crowd is to distract and divert. As it is a crowd, it is unavoidable for an innocent bystander to get caught in the blame.
My previous point being that the dress code was with concern with infiltrators entering the premises.
As this incident has come into light, we should take note about it and the grave consequences that we have faced.
Establishing a certain predefined Dress code will certainly act as a barrier in such situations.
Human nature is varying. We wear clothes according to our moods & preferences but that does not mean we can wear any choice of attire anywhere. Every situation, every place requires a particular dress code which needs to be followed.

I am totally against the dress code for college students.
Because when the students are in school they are kept under the supervision of the teachers do all the things with discipline but when a student goes to college after passing school in 10th grade they become stable and matured enough to protect their selves and to maintain discipline.....
Team Black Panther.
Contradicting team super giant,
Is this even a concern?
For quality you can always choose which is best for you.
Everything doesn't come as we want it.
When we can adjust to many other things then why not the color of a uniform? Is it too much to ask for?

They give a sense of belonging and pride. ...
They promote school spirit. ...
They allow parents to save on time and money spent on shopping for school clothes. ...
They help students spend less time
Bro we r doing debate 😁😁
Team Ultron.
I am here in support for the topic.
8> Life without Goals & rules is not meaningful. Every person should have a goal in life. Every person should have the obedience and discipline required to achieve these goals.
Human nature is varying. We wear our clothes based on our moods & preferences but that does not mean we wear any attire anywhere. Every situation, every place requires a particular attire.
No one goes to the gym wearing a tuxedo.
Similarly no one attends a board-meeting in flip-flops.
Therefore a Dress code is very essential and integral in shaping the life of an individual. It brings uniformity and a sense of responsibility.
In colleges it is therefore very much important to establish a dress code to eliminate any casual behaviour.
Team Black Panther.

Contradicting to team stanley, when u talk about equality why don't u also consider the scholarships and benefits availed to the minorities and to students BPL. and also as you said when all the students perceive the same merit once completed the course, so why is it so demeaning to wear a uniform of the same color as others. When we talk about individual rights and freedom we also talk about the society as the whole where education has been given the prior priority where we are expected to maintain certain norms and decorum, uniform helps this vision in a manner which upholds the message of equality and unity.
Contradicting Team star lord
if dress code is not compulsory they the students start getting volating the rule and main the indiscipline among the college and again it leads to indiscipline
so i think so dress code should be mandatory.
(TEAM ASGUARDIAN)
Response to "Team Black Panther's" As you mentioned in your contradictory comment firstly, you spoke about how dress code gives a student a sense of belonging to a certain group of people by which you're completely proving to the point that dress code is a system to make the students feel that they need to be belonging to a certain kind of group and not represent themselves as individual. Secondly, when you talk about the decency of clothing that a student should maintain in the college campus, we can see that colleges are being quite vocal about what is expected from the student when it comes to the decency of dressing without the implication of the system of dress code.
Team Black Panther.
Justifying my point to team Asguardian.
Yes i mentioned that the dress code gives a student the sense of belonging but you took me wrong..
Offcourse an individual must represent oneself but here my point is that.. when you are out of theo college in any fest or event like "ADVAITH" where you are amongst many other college students ,and if you are in the dress code provided by ur College it is obvious that you belong to a group !
Like wise the one's who are in civil dress can't be recognised as of which College they belong to and if they are the participants or no.
And about the decency of the clothing.. yes the colleges are quite vocal about what is expected from the student when it comes to decency of dressing but I don't think so that every individual will take it as it is said.. many of them as i said come from different backgrounds who might not adopt things easily or cannot afford trousers and shirts and all of that.. but if a college has a dress code it will be made compulsory and the students will have to adopt it.

Uniforms have always been a sign of self discipline, respect, unity and responsibility. Wearing uniforms in college will keep the nostalgia alive and uplift the spirit of learning. It teaches us living together in a community and respecting the institution as well as every individual. It also does help in maintaining security of the institution as each student will be identified with the help of uniform. So it should be worn with pride and dignity.
Team Hawk Eye
As many of us have said ,I would like to add on if uniform is introduced we wouldn't be distracted regarding the way we dress and come to college We have to wear the normal uniform and everyone would be equal. There wouldn't be any sort of groupism regarding the way the most trending ones one wear.

This the importance of uniform, you are wearing at the time of fest or celebration function, because you want to be a disciplined one`s
same as uniform should be mandatory for daily routine.
Even if u have to buy it's for the whole year and later on years.A kind of one time investment. Otherwise we spend too much money on buying dresses and always have the tendency to buy latest trends in the market.

By wearing a uniform one doesn't loose his or her identity as a individual. We all have come up till here by wearing a uniform only in school days.An individual doesn't need to prove themselves by wearing a different dress code.So here I are trying to say u are judging a person on the kind of dress they wear!?
Here Team Proxima Midnight,
No, Uniform should not be mandatory: College uniform should not be made Compulsory for students to have them. as this only works as a force rule that is against the very spirit of freedom, leave them free to make their own choices as to what they want to wear at college they will definitely perform much better.College students should feel comfortable Because they are always coming forward to break the rules and regulations... And creates unnecessary scenes..So its better to make them to wear their own choice of dress to keep them happy..Ever and Ever Only Uniform cant say that you have best decorum.. And Good conduct its only Ideas, thaughts, Mentality that really mattets.. Tqsm
Team Hawk Eye
When you wear the similar kind of dress code it shows unity as group.otherwise we will not be recognized easily. And uniform is made compulsory only when you come to a college other times one can wear the dress as per their comforability.
We choose a college to study based on the quality of education they provide so the uniform which is made mandatory can be sacrificed and adjusted to it ,because after all studies is more important .
They can't recognize us Even we are all in complete Uniform.. They, Used to ask ourselves to know the Name of the college
Team Hawk Eye.
One has a freedom to wear anything and the student also gets freedom when he is else where rather in college.
Because most of the professions have a uniform or dress code as the dress we wear and come shouldn't be the main agenda rather than studies or the work should be given more importance.

Hence i would like to conclude by saying that.
It is stated that dress codes are required to prevent discrimination and create a friendly environment for studying together.Studies show that children are more focused on their studies when they are in uniform.Uniform induce a sense of discipline and honour for the alma mater.

Then it will harm an individual's personality and restrict selef expression thoi who argue about monetary part and whether the parents would be ably to afford the clothes should realise that not everyone is financially equal it is nova perfect society and discrepancies will always be there so why not prepare college students the real future
Team Ultron.
Here I would like to conclude that a dress code should not be looked upon as a punishment rather it is a benefit for the students as well as the institution.
It gives a distinct Identity to the students and recognition to the institution in cases of high esteem.
Dress code instils confidence and uniformity among the students. Chances of any kind of discrimination are very minimal.
Establishing a dress code also helps with the safety & other situations of theft, damage to property, etc by outsiders/infiltrators etc. It acts as a barrier.
So with reference to my other points stated, I would like to conclude that Dress code is the perfect implementation which has numerous advantages and almost null backlogs.
Therefore with regards to the points stated Dress code should be made compulsory in colleges.
Team : super giant
Let the students feel free without being bound by attires leave them free to make their own choice as to what they want to wear at school and they will perform much better when students will feel comfortable in what they will be much more efficient and creative

Conclusion.:- Wearing a college uniform makes children proud to be part of their college because it curbs alienation, helps to form class/college unity and differentiates between the students and teachers. It helps to give students the structure they need, whilst not removing any creativity from them.so uniform should be there for college students
Team Black Panther.
My conclusion is that Uniforms are necessary to the college students as it brings equality and a sense of intergrity among the students and also encourages discipline.
