As a manager I would like to propose these changes in the management:

1) Automation of data entry.

2) Employee training in using electronic gadgets for decreasing manual data entry errors.

3) Taking trucks on rental bases directly from the manufacturer and having AMC will help in reducing the investment and maintenance of trucks.

4) SOP has to be standardized and should be well known by the employee during the training and should be checked regularly.

5) Orthodox management has to be changed by bringing in expertise and a combination of already working staff having experience can bring in lots of change and confidence among the people working there.

6) Adoption of mechanically based types of equipment to reduce the time lag in loading and unloading.

7) Adoption of mapping to load the package in the truck such as to increase efficiency.

If i was a manager,
* Look for an good attitude person for the profile who is creative and had the ability to learn new things.
* Training to be given to use computers.
* Update the technology for data entries so that there are no much errors.
* Look after the loading and unloading are done on time by using some new technologies.

The major problems of GATI Transport were:
1. Accident
2. Slow movement of vehicles
3. Network problems
4. Natural disasters
5. Maintainance of vehicle
6. Loading and unloading in the traditional way
7. Lack of SOP
8. Delay in loading and unloading
9. Improper data
Etc

Therefore as being the manager of GATI Transport I would first analyze each of the problem. First I would automate the data entry system through which there will be no late entry of the data and the data would be updated on time.
Second, I would adopt the mechanical based type of machines that will help in reduction of time for the loading and unloading of the shipment.
Third,hiring the truck on monthly basis to reduce cost and maintenance.
Fourth, proper training for all thr employees from the maintainance of the truck to the data entry respective of their job role.

The challenge was there was no proper data entry systems, as now technology is growing we have ERP s to maintain the data, they need no work on it.

Strong Maintenance department should be there for checking the trucks for particular time period.

Train the employees in using the computers which would make work faster.

Time plays an very important role in any business. So they should be trained in maintaining the time while loading and unloading.

Problem and solution :
1 : accidents : hiring should be of good professional drivers
2: high charge: I would have decrease the charges so that people will more and more it helps them increase their transports
3: slow moment of vehicle: the Warehouses and offices should be near high ways
4: natural disasters : we should be prepared well n good before while transportation and services
5: maintenance of vehicles: we should have large space to keep vehicles at the time of crises, should service there vehicles monthly once
6: incentives: proper incentives and insured should be given to workers and driver's and staff so that they should be happy and they take more risks at transportation of some important goods
7: hire good IT students so that they will knowing how to use software much .
8 : software's we use to fill data and entries , any other information should be of good data handler with no bags and should be updated regularly

The company has not done any recruitments so company can recruit new employees with data entry and computer knowledge
Trucks on rental basis can help in delivery as there will be less issues with trucks

They have to use automated machine to load and unload the mayerial.
Instead of giving contract to third party they can give service because they have their own vehicals which are more advance.
They have to maintain their vehicals so that they cannot face the problem before delivery it has to be well checked.

•the “ITO” (Inputs, Transformation, Outputs) model to document a process. When written as a procedure in Microsoft Word, Can use the smart art feature to represent these parts.
•Adding screenshots- Screenshots make procedures MUCH more useful even if you are a highly gifted technical writer.

Low computer literacy:
•conducting training programs can help.
•Elearning can be used.

Fraudulent customers:
•cctv and web cams can help in keeping an eye.

Improper data entry:
•appoint proper people for the job.
•enable automation.
•monitor the process and use feedback.

New technologies can be used for loading and unloading.

For natural calamities:
One should be before hand ready for it.
Like having warehouses in between 2 destination will be helpful.

Data is very important do proper data entry was required and they didn't use updated technology

Their should be regular training for all departments workers and feedback should be taken from their senior and juniors
They shld be trained on new technology, gazets , time management and quality delivery

SOP should be revised yearly

1. They has policy if they had delayed in service they will give money back, instead of this they have to hire quality translation third party or they can start their on city and rural vehicles instead of third party

Challenges were:


*On-demand era, tracking codes they do not satisfy consumers anymore, they want to have full, real-time visibility of shipping & delivery. – that is, they want to be able to see where the driver is and exactly when they will arrive. Whether the delivery is same-day or not, consumers still want to have more when they wait for a package.

*Total delivery cost comes from the delivery for ecommerce , this often gets passed on to the customer. Cost is not a new issue, but new expectations; particularly regarding same-day/on-demand delivery has put a greater problem budgetson . This will affect the higher fuel cost.

If I was the Manager

1.Training was a major element that I would include for developing the operations
2.Advabcement in operations by automation was required
3.No SOP that was actually essential
4.Traditional Methods had to be modernized
5.BCG matrix would help them to understand what kind of product or courier was more working
6. Demand Forecasting would be efficient by using various techniques of forecasting .
7.Maintenance of the Vehicles Need to be done on weekly basis
8.Last minute orders needed more efficient suppliers
9.Data Needed to be recorded into a software and the employees needed to be trained to reduce inconvenience and errors in data entry
